Walking Tours offer great fun and local historian Jack Burtchell’s tour is amongst the best in the region. In just 1 hour the city’s past and range of quirky characters will be brought to life with Jacks’s enthusiasm and wit.
Within 20 minutes’ drive of the hotel you can walk the long sandy beach of Tramore and be in awe at the rolling sand dunes, as well as taking in all the fun and tradition this town has to offer. At Dunmore East its quaint fishing village feel and quiet beach will really help you switch off and enjoy some me-time. Also well worth a visit is the Copper Coast Geo Park to the west of Waterford city in the pretty village of Bunmahon. Its visitor centre set in an historic church tells the story of the area’s copper mining past and the geological profile of the area.
Waterford’s newest attractions is the Waterford Deise Greenway which extends some 46km from Waterford city to Dungarvan in the west. This is a wonderful outdoor experience where you can walk or cycle along various sections of the Greenway with bike hire available. Safe and fun-filled for all the family this really is a great new addition to the region
